The Founder: After years of isolation due to agoraphobia, panic disorder, and alcohol use, I longed to connect with others in my community who were facing similar struggles. I hoped to find a group where we could support each other and work through our challenges together. After overcoming some of my fears and reintegrating into the community, I founded Peer Promise Comfort Community.

Peer Promise is a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization that exists to stand beside people when life feels overwhelming and hope starts to fade. We know how easy it is to stop trying when every step toward help feels impossible — when leaving the house is terrifying, when you don’t have a computer to search for a counselor, when you want a sponsor but don’t know where to begin, or when the paperwork alone feels like a mountain you can’t climb.
Our mission is to remove those barriers by walking with you, not ahead of you. We help you get to that doctor’s appointment when fear keeps you home. We help you find the right counselor, even without technology. We help you navigate recovery resources, meetings, sponsors, and systems that are too confusing to face alone. We sit with you through the forms, the calls, the steps, and the moments when you feel like giving up.
Peer Promise is a resource for resources — but more importantly, we are peers. We are people who understand what it feels like to struggle, and we believe no one should have to fight for support by themselves.
We meet you where you are, walk with you at your pace, and stay until you feel steady again.
No shame. No judgment. Just people helping people find hope, one step at a time.
